Going a level deeper into hell: the physician work time RVUs that CMS uses are created by the AMA which does so by surveying the relevant specialty (in this case anesthesiology). Which means they’re mad that they’re being restricted to the time they themselves defined.

I swear. These guys have the most fragile egos! They won! Jay Bhattacharya is NIH Director, and, for example, I’m still just a surgery professor struggling to make his clinical RVUs and to secure extracurricular funding for his lab who happens to blog in his free time.

god im so fuckin worn out. the last 48 hours were insane. I think I’m averaging highest RVUs per visit in my clinic just from talking to people and writing good notes. god bless the 2021 CMS update
