Freedom at last i can finally draw other shit now :,) #rwby #rwbyvolume7 #comic #nutsanddolts #rubyrose #pennypolendina #weissschnee #blakebelladonna #yangxiaolong

Penny pulls her hair aside and tells Ruby “There is a small circular button beneath this hatch on my neck. Holding it down for three seconds will turn me off, and doing so again will turn me back on.” Penny falls into Ruby’s arms with a “glomp” onomatopoeia, and Ruby places her finger onto the button, telling Penny “Okay. Ready when you are.” Penny enthusiastically replies “I’M BEDTIME READY!”, to which Ruby laughs, sighs, and says “Goodnight, Penny.” Penny says goodnight back, and as she powers down, she tells Ruby weakly “I… love… you…” Ruby lays staring at the ceiling upon hearing this, before closing her eyes, smiling, and saying “I love you too.”

Like middle schoolers upon hearing about a classmate’s crush, Yang, Weiss, and Blake all say “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH!~” in unison with smug looks on their faces, to which Ruby shouts back “YOU WERE AWAKE THIS WHOLE TIME?!?!?!?!” Below is a crude sketch of Yang leaning on an embarrassed Ruby, pumping her fist with tears streaming down her face as she says “Always knew my lil’ sis had game!” Penny looks on confused.

Ruby sits next to Penny and tells her “If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone in feeling worried. With global communications down and two huntsman academies attacked, all of Remnant’s been on edge. Which is why I’m so proud of you for all you’ve done for Mantle. In the midst of all this turmoil, they can rest easy knowing someone has their back; Knowing that you’re there to watch over them while they’re at their most vulnerable, and if it’s alright with you…” She proceeds to place her hand on Penny’s and continues: “…I’d be more than happy to be that guardian for you tonight. I’ll keep watch over you while you’re gone, and I’ll stay right here by your side to wake you up again. I promise.” Penny blushes and tells Ruby “You have always had such a way with words, Ruby. I admire you a lot for that.”

Penny recalls past events that brought her here: “One moment, I was competing in Amity Colosseum. The next, I was back in Atlas, in a body now my own. The general told me that Beacon had fallen. He told me the Vale was in ruins, and that Ciel, she… She…
Penny, sitting on Ruby’s bed with her fists clenched, says “Ruby, bad things happen when I am away. Father tells me that it’s good for me to turn off periodically, but what if something happens to him? What if Mantle is put in danger? What if I lose you again?

Penny and Ruby sit together on a bed as Penny says the following: “Ruby, I do not sleep like other girls do. When you sleep, you just close your eyes and open them again in the morning, but I cannot do that on my own. Whenever I sleep, I have to be turned off and back on manually, and in the time between I do not think. I do not dream. I do not sleep so much as I die and wait for somebody to bring me back to life, but what if nobody is there to help? What will happen to the people I care about while I wait?” Ruby responds “I’m sure they’ll be okay, Penny. Besides you’ve got plenty of people here to help you; Me, my team, Pietro, and I’m certain the Ace Ops can keep Mantle safe while you rest. What difference will a couple hours of sleep make?” Penny tells Ruby “The last time I was gone, a couple of hours was all it took for me to lose almost everything. Do you not remember the Vytal Festival?” This last sentence causes Ruby to look at her with concern.

Behold, a singular page of a comic I may or may not finish :3
#rwby #rwbyvolume7 #rubyrose #pennypolendina #nutsanddolts

Team RWBY lies asleep in their dorm at Atlas Academy when an unseen individual opens their door, spilling light from the hallway into the room and casting their shadow onto the floor. The figure stands next to Ruby, who cracks one eye open and says tiredly “Ngh… Hi, malevolent shadowy figure at the foot of my bed.” Ruby then jolts awake out of terror and yells “MALEVOLENT SHADOWY FIGURE AT THE FOOT OF MY-“ She is cut off by the figure, revealed to be Penny, who offers a “Salutations, Ruby”. Ruby, eyes half open, says back “Oh. Hey, Penny. (Gods, you scared me half to death.) What’s wrong? Can’t sleep? (Assuming you can even do that.)” Penny replies “Hypothetically I could, but I really do not want to.” Ruby, now fully awake, sits up and asks “Why not? Are you scared or something?” Penny closes her eyes and smiles, telling Ruby “Oh, Ruby, you make me laugh! Of course not! That would be far too silly to be the-“ Her sentence is cut short by a single hiccup, to which she worriedly hushes herself. After a few stifled seconds, Ruby asks “…Would you, wanna talk about that?”

A moment, a love

Been practicing with traditional pencil drawings again, I have a bunch more I haven't shared but it's been so nice to stretch some old muscles I haven't used in a while
