My sister's deeply involved in making RADIOHEART: The Drive and Times of Kenneth Cole, a movie about rock and roll, radio, and love. They need money. I already kicked in. If you want to spread a little light and help this sweet project come to fruition, here's the link: gofund.me/79c9bdaa

Struck by this image from Radioheart: The Drive and Times of DJ Kevin Cole. Not just the gold Prince star, which I knew about and have seen in-person, but the red George Floyd star, which I didn't and haven't. After premiering in Mpls, Radioheart plays @siffnews.bsky.social May 12, 15, and 17.

I believe that's why there's a Visqueen song, "Crush on Radio," in the trailer. Rachel went on to sing backup for and became Neko Case's manager. She now mostly works in artist management, but she's one of Seattle's finest vocalists.

Hey REV 105 and KJJO etc. fans, FYI.
He is a semi-retired radio DJ at KEXP in Seattle. But he was the lead DJ at First Avenue during the 1980s, and then the force behind Rev105 radio station in Minneapolis in the 1990s. There is a new documentary film about this career called "RADIOHEART: The Drive & Times of DJ Kevin Cole"

@siffnews.bsky.social fun fact: Pete Hilgendorf, director of the Kevin Cole documentary, Radioheart, once ran the local label Blue Disguise, which released records by Visqueen and Thee Emergency, two of my favorite Seattle bands. I wrote the band's bio and reviewed King Me for the All Music Guide.
