I snapped together the EWAC Zack just in time for my birthday! It really is a funny kit for a funny design. Some of the gray parts from the original Hi-zack mold are sacrificed for more blue, so the joints, hands, and gun are all blue without color correction. Still, I enjoyed building this #gunlla

I've always felt that the Franz Joseph mono-nacelle ships had ungainly proportions (though were still charming). I think putting some volume above the saucer does a lot to balance it, and a big radome/sensor pallet was a natural fit for a scout-type ship.

I'm informed it's #SabreSaturday. Saw this colorful F-86D/L only Wednesday at MAPS Air Museum, North Canton, OH USA.
USAF F-86 with yellow markings. Placard: "The North American F-86D Sabre (sometimes called the "Sabre Dog" or "Dog Sabre") was a transonic jet all-weather interceptor. Based on North American's F-86 Sabre day fighter, the F-86D had only 25 percent commonality with other Sabre variants, with a larger fuselage, larger afterburning engine, and a distinctive nose radome. Gun armament was eliminated in favor of a retractable under-fuselage tray carrying 24 unguided 2 inch Mark 4 rockets. The F-86L was an upgrade conversion of F-86D with new electronics, extended wingtips and wing leading edges, revised cockpit layout, and uprated engine. Only 981 of the F-86Ds were converted to this configuration."

Across the base, two crossed dipole HF antennas and a radome (similar to those in the southeastern facility) are present alongside a main control building. Additional reinforced cable trenches laid in 2025 suggest more antennas may be added in the future.

The southeastern facility features a main control building, 30-meter dipole antennas for high-frequency communications, smaller antennas for very/ultra-high frequency communications, mobile dish antennas for satellite communications, probable 5G towers, & a radome enclosing an unidentified asset.
