the other games that one might call "zerocore" seem to, not really hone in on the bullet-stall aspect of the melees; lilac 0 uses it as a dash-bomb, rainchaser seems to use it as a mix between homing and close dps. hellsinker is the exception and that's pre-zr. rsg also pre-zr but goes bullet cancel

Realizing that nearly every game I've played for the past month was picked out by my boyfriend... Pathologic 2 & 3, Drainus, Birdcage, Rainchaser, Dragon Age Veilguard, Marathon, Pragmata, Motor Slice, Logic Bombs, Dark Souls 3, Motorslice.. Most of those were also from him in the family share too..

These have been very good years for the genre. I recommend Sektori, an impressive dual-stick shooter, and Birdcage is also very good. As for Rainchaser, which you mention at the end, when it comes out, I'm sure it will become one of the greats. It's by far the game I'm most looking forward to

Oh my god Birdcage and Rainchaser are both so fucking good
Video games are beautiful man
Birdcage really had me thinking I was okay at the genre until I got to stage 3's midboss LMAO
Really can't wait to beat it
Also still need to ACTUALLY beat Rainchaser's boss (or maybe I did already???)

Just tried Birdcage and bloody hell - that demo’s fantastic. Accessible yet has its own feel. I love the sword mechanic, though will have to accept that it’s a game for a pad rather than a stick!
