Rainlegs haben den großen Nachteil, dass sie sich nicht von allein in richtige Regenhosen verwandeln können, wenn der Regen plötzlich stärker wird. #mdrza

Make sure you get the right ones for you though! There's the rainlegs Arctic which are insulated and the regular rainlegs which aren't. They put them all into the same box so it can be a bit confusing. Ask me how I know. Also @mplsfietser.bike

Rainlegs are legit. They get overwhelmed in the heaviest rain, but are perfect for most Seattle rain. They also pack up very small. I would not say they are a particularly sexy set of assless chaps, though, if that was your intent. 🌧️🍑

Ein ziemlich nasses #mdRnH, nachdem #mdRzA heute morgen sehr warm und trocken war. Die #Vaude #Regenjacke hat nach drei Kilometern im #Dauerregen am linken Ellenbogen Wasser durch gelassen. Und die Hose war natürlich klatschnass, weil ich zu faul war, die #Rainlegs anzuziehen.

Fenders are a necessity for sure.
I sometimes wear rain chaps (Rainlegs), which keep the top of the thighs dry on shorter rides. My wife has a Cleverhood rain cape, which also protects the top of the legs.
No advice on glasses.

Auch, aber anders. Gamaschen sind toll, wenn die Unterschenkel trocken bleiben sollen. Dazu noch Rainlegs und du bist einfach geschützt, ohne dich mit komplizierten Überhosen abquälen zu müssen.

Hab beides, normale (gute, atmungsaktive) Regenhos und Rainlegs. Rainlegs definitiv deutlich leichter auszuziehen und durch das kleine Volumen eher Kategorie "immer dabei", Schutz für 90% der Fälle bei kurzen Fahrten ausreichend, aber ich schwitz massiv drunter weil null atmungsaktiv.

Na pár km po městě používám k zakrytí stehen produkt Rainlegs. Buď odhadnu, že bude pršet, nebo kouknu na odhad v apkách, přibalím to do batohu a natahuji podle aktuálního stavu, třeba i včera po vyzvednutí rekomanda na poště (fotka je z dubna 2023 před školou po doprovodění kluka ke škole).

Mach einfach, was du schaffst, und auf einmal hast du die 10 km. Und nach und nach kommen dann auch immer mehr Klamotten für das jeweilige Wetter dazu. Rainlegs sind z. B. genial bei Schauerwetter, wenn man nicht weiß, obs jetzt regnet oder doch nicht.

Ach ja. Für leichten Niesel gibts die Rainlegs die den Oberschenkel trocken halten aber den Rest vom Bein luftig lassen.
Ich hab diverse Softshell Jacken je nach Temperatur. Meistens aber die mittlere Dicke.
Ich würd nen Gepäckträger anbringen. Z.B. Quick Rack oder ein Pendelrad besorgen. Salz&so

Ach ja. Für leichten Niesel gibts die Rainlegs die den Oberschenkel trocken halten aber den Rest vom Bein luftig lassen.

Due to the drought this summer it took until today for me to try my Rainlegs (waterproof cycling chaps) in actual rain. They work perfectly right down to where they end mid-shin. Backs of my legs do stay dry, they're less faff to take on and off and less sweltering than full rain pants.

If you have proper mudguards, rainlegs are so much better than waterproof trousers. Less sweat, less space occupied in a bag, you can put it on without stepping off the bike, still provides 95% of protection from rain compared to waterproof trousers. I don't understand why it is not more common.

not fully waterproof. Waterproofing is more important with shoes, because you cannot fully dry those during the work day. For the rest, I keep in the office/carry with me change of clothes. Having panniers instead of backpacks can increase water resistance of your jacket. I also keep rainlegs
