🚨 The Prisoners' Media Office revealed that the administration of Rakevit Prison has escalated its repression and abuse of Gaza prisoners following complaints filed against it regarding torture and violations within the prison. 📉 The most prominent escalating violations by the occupation against Gaza prisoners: 🐕 The use of police dogs, tear gas, and batons by repressive forces, resulting in injuries and fractures among the prisoners. ⛔ Violent assaults, pressure, and threats to force prisoners to withdraw their complaints against the prison administration. 🕵️‍♂️ Spying on prisoners' conversations with their lawyers and attempting to suppress complaints related to torture and violations. 🚫 The conditions of Gaza prisoners in Rakevit have also deteriorated significantly amidst deliberate medical neglect, severe shortages of food, clothing, and hygiene supplies, and the continuation of repressive measures against them.

◽️ Signs of Brutal Torture: The doctor was brought in handcuffed and surrounded by masked guards. His head, eyes, and neck bore recent and severe injuries and bruises that altered his appearance. ◽️ Physical and psychological collapse: He suffers from extreme difficulty breathing and speaking, is unable to sit without losing his balance, and has nearly lost consciousness several times amidst intense panic. ◽️ Hammer assault: The doctor confirmed that four to five prison guards stormed his cell in solitary confinement at Ganot Prison and brutally assaulted him with hammers and batons. He stated that this abuse has been repeated daily since his transfer to Rakeft Prison, without any medical treatment being provided. ⚖️ Background to the arrest and retaliatory escalation ◽️ Dr. Abu Safieh has been detained since December 27, 2024, without charge under the "Unlawful Combatants" law. Following the Supreme Court's rejection of his appeal on June 10, 2026, and the petition filed by Physicians for Human Rights for his release, the prison administration transferred him to solitary confinement, and then to the underground "Rakevit" section on June 24, 2026. The organization asserts that the serious escalation in his torture and the deterioration of his health came as a direct act of reprisal immediately after he began legal proceedings to challenge his detention.
