And didn't tell everyone.
So, huge swathes of Pretoria have been without water.

Of course, the remaining question is: Can #RandWater and the #Johannesburg metro get a handle on #water waste and actually get service to communities lacking water (esp historically disadvantaged ones)? Still to be seen.

Rand Water, South Africa’s largest water utility, confirmed a cybersecurity incident affecting some of its computer systems, but said critical operations such as water treatment, quality control, and bulk supply remain fully operational. The incident was disclosed to Rand Water’s debt holders on 2026-09-03, and the company stated that water quality has not been affected. #RandWater

I asked on our local WA group: has RandWater/CoJ considered those who are elderly/sick/living with disabilities? It's all very well providing tankers, how wd elderly in our neighbourhood manage hauling water? Why not provide job opportunities for workers to deliver to those who can't cope?
