Saw the Ravens for a second visit & they seemed so happy to see me. They came in separately tumbling & then Gravy did my very favourite vocalisation/body language, the bowing before Chips came in & did his kerplunk sound! They didn’t want food just went off flying having fun! 😊

I have been asked a lot lately how to make friends with Ravens/Crows and I think the most important thing is consistency. I walk the same route every day and the Ravens know my routine & that I carry boiled eggs! This year there are only 4 days were we haven’t seen each other 😄

The Ravens came later for breakfast this morning and it is the first morning I have been cold sat with them for a while. They had some egg and suet and then Chips had a little clack at me before Gravy came to groom him. It seems to always be Gravy grooming Chips!! Just look at Chips face! 😊

Some soothing Raven grooming to start your day. It’s an interesting discussion as to whether I am anthropomorphising the Ravens when I say they are my friends & just come to hang out, but that is my experience. Yesterday afternoon they ignored any food just wanted to sit & bond.

Sitting having breakfast with the Ravens in the beautiful warm drizzle and my heart is full of love for them 😄😊 I told them how thankful I am that they come and check in each morning and make my day!!

Last night I was reading about Ravens in mythology & as spiritual messengers & as I was sat with them this morning I was thinking that maybe they were sent to me for a reason. I tend towards the over dramatic 😆 but I don’t think it is an exaggeration to say they saved me this year! 😊

Didn’t see much of the Ravens this morning so thought I see if they were around now, after 1/2 hr’s wait Chips came in with a call & a somersault followed by Gravy. See how Chips is almost falling asleep while Gravy is grooming him! MhNotice how they hear the distant shooting 😞

I share so much of the Ravens as each day I’m amazed & curious about their behaviour & I love to see other people’s reactions to them too! I don’t think I’ll ever become used to the feeling of being so close to Ravens! Gravy doing the clacking, Chips doing the water droplet call

Lovely long leisurely breakfast with the Ravens this morning. They had some breakfast then had a long preen. The first 2 close ups are of Chips, the second 2 are Gravy and when they are eating on the ground Chips is on the right, Gravy on the left.

An ultra close up of Gravy doing her clacking to me on the Ravens second visit. They stayed longer and were more relaxed on this visit. It’s lovely how many of you seem to agree with me that they are so very, very special and enjoy to see them almost as much as me!😊

The result is in 🤣 I didn’t fool the Ravens. I knew this was going to be the case as the Jackdaws and Crows followed me from the house as normal. You can’t fool a corvid!! Next I should try it with a beard 🤣🤣

More Raven photos😀 I took this yesterday afternoon as the Ravens were sat relaxing in the sunshine. They were hot so were opening their beaks to cool down. I think it is interesting to see inside a Ravens mouth! 😅

oday's photos of the Ravens are from a slightly different angle. They were on a fence post and I lay down on the ground and looked up at them. I think it's a nice angle of them! It shows their shaggy throat feathers well.

I am not getting far on my walk this morning as the Ravens are really in the mood for company! One came in tumbling followed by the other! They are so talkative this morning too. Every time I get up to go they follow 😁
