The only thing I’d add to Erlend’s excellent response: Bluesky is built on atproto! The (bad) hypothetical where evil co shuts off bsky’s open access doesn’t exist because you’d have to completely rearchitect how bsky works, it’s not like just turning off an API endpoint. That’s the whole point!
Some of these are fair criticisms (a hundred million in VC funding is always gonna be a huge liability) but many parts of your argument are actively becoming outdated.
I’ll list a few, but also your threat model is off. Acquired platforms don’t close down overnight. There’s always a window of exit.

They would have to rearchitect a large portion of the activation and licensing system of windows. The downside is that doing so would affect hundreds of millions of pcs in schools, businesses and governments, just to add one check.
