#ReExports
The "export defer" TC39 proposal aims to introduce a similar optimization *at the language level*, so that you can rely on it in all the tools and environments that you might run your code with.

Just because you need one thing from a module, you shouldn't pay the cost of all the others!

Rspack v1.5 will introduce an experimental optimization that skips building unused reexports in side-effect-free barrel files.

This reduces the build time of `import { Button } from 'antd'` from 528ms to 82ms.

It has been surprisingly hard to find decent data on eighteenth-century sugar reexports, except for Great Britain. I made some heroic assumptions, so this chart is not fit for publishing, but if it is even in the correct ballpark, it shows how French reexports really were something else entirely.

met someone who imports them from China and illegally reexports to the US, lucrative business

it reexports (==) as `phys_equal` and restricts (=) and `compare` to ints

u could always do a metapackage that reexports from all the constituent ones

Ha! I was thinking more reexports to the continent.

Another WIP
less than 1.5 minutes, a few clicks and i have a Substance Painter file with my mesh, textures exported, everything set up in UE and (mostly) ready for further iterations and reexports🙌

still MANY issues, but happy to see that my idea is coming to life

Je pourrait faire un fil sur ces choses, mais je pense que @mariefernet.bsky.social est mieux placée pour expliquer tout ça.

L'information importante est que c'est un outil utilisé par les US pour bloquer les exports/réexports de matériels militaires.

are they actual star reexports or just namespace reexports? namespace reexports aren't as annoying to deal with

This doesn’t seem fanciful to me at all tbh: 40% of our total consumption is local production, and some think like 10-15% is in each of power generation and exports. Our actual dependence on the globa lng market is small, maybe 5-8% of use after accounting for our reexports of lng via pipeline.

I like inline module blocks for imports/reexports and keeping more descriptive names, instead of having mod․rs files, I hate having a hundred mod․rs files in my project

With Iran unlikely to continue receiving weapon reexports through the UAE, rerouting through Pakistan and the Caspian Sea, and more direct sourcing from China are the most likely substitutes. This shift creates rare policy openings to disrupt the new routes.

I usually see public reexports at the lib.rs level, with the inner module structure largely hidden. Also note judicious use of non_exhaustive on public structs for api stability

The (incomplete) pic i get from the data is: Direct Imports from China way down, China exports to rest of world up, Port of LA traffic only moderately down. So it's reexports.

Why? Kazakhstan is still a strong supporter of russia, undermining the EU sanctions with reexports. Unless Kazakhstan is clearly and strongly cutting ties with russia, there is no reason to give such privilege.

Fixed one of the oldest rustdoc reexport bug (5 years!) where transient crates were ignored:

```
// crate a
/// a
pub struct X;
// crate b
/// b
pub use a::X
// crate c
/// c
pub use b::X;
```

Before github.com/rust-lang/ru..., the docs from the `b` crate was not present.

Enjoy!

I also added a few improvements to the tool: It reexports all at once, and I finally got to automate a lot of smaller things in decompression I was lazy about for the longest time.😅
Including this automated precise decompression window with no stray garbage tiles around the gfx!

I think I wasn’t clear enough about what I wanted. I would like to see function names of reexports on the index, linking to the reexports site. This seems to be working when I list one of the reexports in the pkgdown yaml. At least it worked for me here www.nflfastr.com/reference/in...
