I see what she means

Toothpaste doesn’t clean your teeth, it just releases a small amount of fluoride to help remineralize the enamel. Your toothbrush and your wrist are what clean your teeth.
Random facts anyone???

I kinda wanna learn something new 🤔

The idea that fluoride is essential for strong teeth isn’t based on it being a “nutrient,” but rather on its ability to strengthen enamel and prevent decay.

Calcium is critical for tooth and bone structure, but fluoride has a unique role, it helps remineralize enamel and makes it resistant to acid

Eat arugula, beets, and spinach to feed the nitrate reducers. Brush with nano-hydroxyapatite so early lesions remineralize instead of progressing.

apparently the fluoride has to sit on your teeth to remineralize it, so we're washing away the enamel by not waiting 🥹

It is in children forming teeth that it matters most. The target here isn't adults. Slathered on fluoride can remineralize but it can't provide the initial mineralization at formation.

The basic issue is that your teeth re-mineralize all on their own. Hydroxyapatite might help them do it a bit faster, but it’s just aiding a natural process. Fluoride makes a stronger mineral which is harder and more resistant to corrosion, so it helps remineralize *and* prevent decay.

They demineralize and remineralize though.

I’ve been using Nano-Hydroxyapatite toothpastes since it was recommended from a Bluesky mutual, and it’s supposed to remineralize and repair enamel (over time), but I’d love a big treatment 😅

It’s also a different uptake mechanism. When kids drink fluoridated water it’s incorporated in the enamel of the developing adult teeth, making them stronger more cavity resistant teeth. Where toothpaste helps remineralize teeth that have already erupted.

Sooner or later, we all succumb to the pressure…and remineralize.

Crazy how people used to chew gum to remineralize their teeth and now you just chew on a sugary piece of plastic these days

It's too bad that Leslie & Tom don't choose to utilize the benign compound calcium carbonate to remineralize teeth instead of the manufacturing byproduct fluoride, a poison to humans.

I am going to start swishing with flouride mouth wash 3 times a day to try and remineralize my enamel too+ brush twice a day too. Or at least try to. Idk i suck at taking care of myself (disaster and mentally ill + was neglected , ive had cavities ever since I can remember)

your teeth, made out of hydroxyapatite, demineralize and remineralize some everyday when the pH fluctuates in your mouth. Fluoride can be incorporated into that cycle to make fluorapatite when teeth remineralize- stronger, more resistant to acid and bacteria

hahah Am laughing! XD

The shells are really good for your teeth, at least! They're a natural source of calcium. Sometimes I eat the shells to help remineralize my teeth because they're quite weak.

Yeah, milk and sleep.

Milk to remineralize your bones, sleep so your brain can do the thing where it power washes your spine.

There are spots where enamel is wore down pretty bad but i dont think its super obvious so thats nice not that i talk to anyone anyway or ever leave my room. But the hygenist said i can remineralize it over a few years so its possible so i hope i can fix it
