#Readercon
Sorry to learn we've lost John Crowley, seen here during happier times at Readercon 2007 with Paul Di Filippo. Readercon was where we had our best chats, which meant even while I enjoyed this year's gathering, I was still conscious at times of his absence, and the hole it left. He will be missed.

Over 25,000 people attend each year, so a great chance to let some book lovers know about Readercon!

Flashback to 2012, when some old-school fan defended a serial harasser at Readercon with "but maybe he's autistic!"

I haven't been to a con since Covid, and I just suddenly went from thinking "should I try going to Readercon next year?" to "should I try getting myself on a *panel* at Readercon next year?"

Indignant over the concept that a genre might evolve and that the evolution resulted in better writing, better stories, better books, better conventions, better fans.

TREMENDOUSLY appalled--apoplectic, even--that Readercon presumed to do panels that people under 45 would want to attend.

And I'll be reading from this book a week from today at Readercon, stop by and say hello if you're around!

Question for the GMs, writers, and worldbuilders out there;

What is your favorite detail in your setting?

It can be big, small, strange, or mundane- either way, just share with everyone and enjoy yourselves.
