The ReadyNAS admin UI doesn't even support TLS 1.2, which means most modern browsers cannot connect to its administration page. NetgearがNAS事業から撤退したあともバックアップ用として使ってるReadyNASくん、とうとうネットワークからウイルス定義の更新が出来ないというエラーを吐き続けるようになってしまった。基本的にウイルスチェックしてるQNAPのNASからのバックアップのみなので定義更新をオフれば問題ないが…悲しい😢

ReadyNASを置き換えしようとUGREENのNASを買ってみてHDD4つつけて動かしてみてるけども、dockerのcontainerを操作画面上から動かせるの便利

I was pleasantly surprised to discover @openwrt.bsky.social had become a SOHO NAS option for my aging ReadyNAS v2. Running a RAID1 pair + external USB, it's more useful than ever, long after Netgear abandoned it. Upgraded to 24.10 today without a hitch. #FOSS #OpenWRT #AintBrokeDontFix

Yeah, can see where that would be a problem.
I was noticing that not only were there no updates for the ReadyNAS, I couldn't install any applications on it, so I looked into it, and it seems like they discontinued it last year.
I *am* liking the synology so far.

It is always a shame when a great product goes away.
No video output makes sense for a server, since you'd be accessing it through a web interface or ssh or remote desktop. Getting to the bios is definitely an issue, though.
Oh, the ReadyNAS is running some old custom Debian version, IIRC...

Hey, I am running 5 x Dell Optiplex 7060s, spec in image below as well as ESXi version 8.0. Virtual Center lives as a VM on this cluster.
The old NETGEAR ReadyNAS 716 Unit is providing 2-3TB of VMFS over iSCSI and NFS shared storage. (likely the next investment to upgrade/change)
Anything else?

そのアンプと、Caldigit TS3(色んなハブ)を置けば一応デスク周りは完成🦭
iMacの上、カーテン越しにドライフラワーぶら下げようかな🤔

Hassle-free storage expansion on my @NETGEAR #ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus. Pulled an old 1 TB drive, replaced it with a new 4 TB drive and let it do its thing

After 6 years of sterling service, I upgraded from my aging ReadyNAS X6 (bottom) to a new Ultra 4+ (top). Shiny!

Uh-oh - my home NAS box (Infrant - now Netgear - ReadyNAS X6) hung hard (no response to ping) and I had to power cycle it - fscking now :-o
