And that, in part, isn't just obedience (the Rebbe knows there are limits iykyk) but because they're really into voting-as-gratitude politics, and if the Rebbe says "we owe Hillary" (and he did, and they did) they all vote for Hillary (and they did)

Which brings us back to the beginning of the thread... New Square is, by design, selective for the most obedient members of the sect and those most piously agnostic of the secular world; of course they vote for whomever the Rebbe says we need to be grateful to, they didn't choose to live there to...

Stark apparently also said (leaked audio to the press?) just before the election that "the Rebbe knows that Bibi is a crook" so I'm not sure how that's going to work

Yeah that is the general consensus to their closest peers religiously to

But as long as there's a critical mass of people who opt in (and the current Rebbe, who isn't a bad guy as they go IMO, remains alive and thus keeps the group from dividing among his many sons) the conformity spiral continues

1. Orthodox communities aren’t more “religious” than other Jewish communities.
2. I’m old enough to remember the Satmar Rebbe endorsing the DSA candidate for mayor in America’s largest city.

You can also try to pick at the most famous people from groups that definitionally don't tend to produce any as an identity thing (it's hard to tell who would be #2 to the Lubavitcher Rebbe -- Marc Chagall? -- and Milton Hershey has no peer as far as Mennonites and Amish go)
