"Beyond stupid." That's how former Rep. Elizabeth Holtzman (D-NY) describes the Trump regime's attempt to rewrite the history of the Watergate scandal by recasting the late Richard Nixon as its victim, 52 years after he had resigned the presidency in disgrace. www.ms.now/connect/watc...
‘BEYOND STUPID’: Watergate vet BLASTS Nixon rewrite as ‘excusing Trump’
Trump's Justice Department is reportedly reviewing whether Watergate prosecutors committed misconduct. It's the latest move by the Trump administration to recast Richard Nixon as a victim of the "deep...

The Bolsheviks opposed Zionism as bourgeois nationalism. The USSR later repackaged old antisemitic tropes as “anti-Zionism,” recasting Jews as imperialists, racists and Nazis, culminating in the 1975 UN resolution declaring “Zionism is racism,” and relentlessly pushed this at the UN.

THE CHEATED PLAYER: The core of the argument in my new book is fairly simple. Over the last 50 years of neoliberal financialized capitalism, individuals have been tasked with recasting ourselves as competitive speculative players, striving to make the most judicious investments in a merciless game.

Ok this Witcher recasting has got to stop.

Cable Street’s lesson is solidarity in action: communities organising to stop fascists. @sarahsackman.bsky.social’s account of Jewish–Somali mutual support captures that spirit. But recasting it as patriotism & policing sidelines how that victory was won and whom protesters had to confront.
Ninety years on, the lessons of the antifascist battle of Cable Street have never felt more relevant | Sarah Sackman
With sectarian forces increasingly seeking to divide us, we must come together to fight for security, fairness and tolerance, says Labour MP for Finchley and Golders Green Sarah Sackman

angela anaconda is part of digimon culture.
fun fact: they made a dvd set with the original three movies but this time with an accurate dub (recasting the og voices) and they wanted to add the anaconda short as a bonus feature, but couldn't due to copyright.
shame.

How it was written: By recasting ancient bridal verse as rapid-fire DM banter, the track risks gimmickry but stays afloat through exquisite rhythmic control. The contrast between organic hand drums and crushed choir patches constructs a ceremonial, garden-lit atmosphere.

🍊 Trump and election-denial influencers are recasting bad GOP polling as a turnout-suppression plot. The pattern is familiar: favourable polls count; unfavourable ones become “fake.” ☟ www.wired.com/story/electi...
Election Deniers Think the GOP’s Terrible Midterm Polling Is a ‘Psyop’
Dozens and dozens of high-profile MAGA influencers and pundits have weighed in. “The laughable fake polls are rolling out,” Catturd posted on X.

Diving down, once again, the rabbit hole of the history of the Our Gang series, who lived happily ever after, who didn't, the way the series kept recasting for types (Joe Cobb/Norman Chaney, Farina/Stymie/Buckwheat, poor Wheezer more or less supplanted by Spanky, etc.).

Fascinating.

Researchers Unlock Accurate Spectra Via Optimised Density Functionals
Density functional theory calculations now bypass longstanding limitations in modelling dynamic quantum behaviour. By recasting optimized effective potential (OEP) and inverted Kohn, Sham (IKS) problems as stable optimisation within standard basis sets, accurate predictions become possible across three common failure modes: self-interaction, delocalization, and static correlation error. This approach also unlocks the computation of exact-exchange potentials for extended π-conjugated systems previously beyond reach.

So the actor playing me in the film aged out of the part before I did. A second actor was cast. I think that recasting is a routine process: the exterior is replaced, the character continues.

I think that recasting is a routine process: the exterior is replaced, the character continues, and nobody asks where the previous one went.

It's weird yeah but it's kind of the big trend of recasting the previous child characters as the parents.

Cops often lie by 'recasting' what a victim says when they write it up. Stupidity or corruption is hard to say. It a widespread problem though.
Ok. So it appears that the tape of Jane Doe’s report to the police bears no resemblance to the report the police wrote for the DA which she did not sign.

The report to the DA says voluntary & consensual all over the place & that she was conscious while on ketamine. That is NOT what she told police

Doomsday is about undoing most of Phase IV’s Kang era, and circling the wagons for said A/X crossover verse.

MCU’s insistence on “ realism” is not going to follow Secret Wars’ source (no Beyonder or Spidey black suit), so yes, a wrap up of the Multiverse recasting with some Young Avengers seeding.

The TV shows get blamed for watering down the brand but they put out so many movies post Endgame that refused to really deal with it and now none of them will matter. The recasting they’ll do after Secret Wars will make choosing the next Bond look like a Royal Succession.
