They legit should not have allowed no humans to join the Stormcloaks at all. Should have been something like: Nords and Redguards get in no questions asked, Imperials and Bretons get grilled first, Elves and Beastfolk get laughed out, Dark Elves literally get attacked on sight for asking.
It's wild to play as like an Orc and Ulfric's people are like "uhh, you sure you came to the right recruiting office?"

One thing replaying Oblivion is reminding me is how many important characters are Redguards (read: Black people).

I felt like it would exacerbate the existing unexamined racism of the franchise to treat Redguards as the proxy for Black people they were originally introduced as. However, I also felt like it would be noticeable, and consequently weird and offputting, to leave Redguards out entirely.
