there're no archives of it pre 2021 on way back machine so it was likely a small unrelated sub that got repurposed after the original mod voluntarily handed it over or the new mods got it via RedditRequest for being abandoned

oh yeah, for those of you wondering about me finding a way to resurrect the Topless Topics #reddit subreddit I made for my own channel after reddit banned the sole account I had as moderator, I guess no dice:

There are two abandoned subreddits which can become a big place for Wikipedia criticism, namely "/r/wikipediasucks" and "/r/meanwhileonwikipedia". Wouldn't it be great if we get the subs through /r/redditrequest?

Maybe if you have a Reddit account with big karmas and activities you can go to /r/redditrequest to request perms for either /r/meanwhileonwikipedia or /r/wikipediacriticism, because Reddit admins seems to leave open the possibility that the latter can be resurrected.

Thanks! The reason why I brought that up is because I saw that a shared account on Reddit that is possibly operated by Ron Merkle, was attempting to request one of the abandoned subs to no avail since they didn't verify their email address.

In 30 days you can make a request on r/redditrequest to take over the mod position if it did actually get banned for not being moderated.

That way can get it back up and archive it, or just actually mod it.

Would that be /r/anacrusisthegame? The sole mod of that hasn’t been active in 89 days, so you might have a shot of getting control back over on /r/RedditRequest. I’d say you have a shot of getting it, seeing as the last post seems to be from 4 years ago.

4b. if they don't respond - go to r/RedditRequest to request taking over the subreddit. Reddit won't give it to you if the existing mod team is active, if you aren't "active", or if you've never moderated a subreddit before, so all the other stuff is key
