And dismissing the concerns of marginalized people isn't class consciousness. It's class reductionism.

The single most exciting and interesting thing about LLMs is *how well this works*. Call an LLM "a word-guessing program" and AI boosters will accuse you of reductionism.

I also sometimes wonder if class reductionism exculpating white privilege is why white leftists are especially rabid about Bernie, in comparison to other progressive politicians. Class reductionism gives an out of confronting racism.

Here is the deal:

Why not fully release the Epstein Files?

Anyone who opposes the release is complicit in child abuse.

The logical endpoint of class reductionism: solidarity demands that we support a racist “worker” and label anyone who takes offense at racial slurs as a decadent bourgeois.
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

that choice was made in a system that provides few jobs that pay well with benefits, respect & opportunity to those who don't hale from society's "upper crust."

How many would choose to work at ICE or the military if they had better job opportunities that didn't require them to mete out torture?

Wokeness is “emotions,” and reactionary reductionism, but also, hard to define.
New York Review of Books sent me a survey about why I'm no longer a subscriber and I did it and at the end it took me to the front page and now I wish I could go back and say "this thing on your front page is a really good example of what I was talking about"
