One of the treasures of Holy Trinity Church is its stained glass. The east window of the south aisle preserves rare fragments of fourteenth- and fifteenth-century glass, including figures believed to represent Saint George, Saint John the Divine, Christ crowned with thorns and the Virgin Mary as a young girl. A striking memorial window of 1906 honours a former organist, depicting Saint Cecilia, patron saint of music, alongside a medieval scribe and bearing the inscription, “One crowded hour of glorious life is worth an age without a name.” Elsewhere, Victorian and Edwardian windows by York and London studios were carefully designed to match in shape and style, creating a harmonious appearance throughout the chancel.
