Both VVD and Isak permitted a fair bit of dissent after that refereeing decision.

That yellow card to Noni Madueke does not feel in line with the refereeing standard set in the first half.

If you've read Paul Tomkins's excellent piece on refereeing you'll know that #LFC are reffed to a different standard than other teams. If you're hoping former member of South Yorkshire Police Howard Webb will sort it, you'll be disappointed. Read more: www.andcouldheplay.com/whats-the-po...

Some questionable refereeing
November 1, 2026 at 5:09 PM
How on earth was that not even a yellow card? That's studs down the back of the leg.

Premier League refereeing is UTTERLY incompetent.

I’m used to poor refereeing but I am absolutely fucking outraged today!

if you asked people who would be good at it why they don't go into refereeing, i'm fairly sure the level of abuse would be a major reason. they're already highly publicly scrutinised compared to their level of pay. this is the opposite of the truth.
Refs being protected from any criticism or repercussions regardless what they do is a big part of the reason their performances are so shite. Why would you improve if you can't be criticised and are never punished no matter what you do?

Refereeing in England is completely broken. Not fit for purpose.
Full on melee at Everton v Newcastle. Tarkowski throwing Joelinton to the ground, Burn pinning Tarkowski with a forearm across the throat. Apparently not as much violent conduct as a 16 year old moving his leg a couple of inches towards someone who tried to clear him out with a tackle.

For clarity here, Madley is just a totally incompetent referee, no matter who he is refereeing. This is not an anti-Arsenal thing.

Same could maybe be said about Attwell, but his anti-Arsenal body of evidence is not insignificant.
November 1, 2026 at 3:51 PM
Anyone else fed up of footy journo’s moaning on social media about refereeing decisions all the time but not actually using their position/audience to write directly about how something is deeply wrong, suspicious at best, about refereeing in the premier league/PGMOL - it’s happening every week?!
November 1, 2026 at 5:25 PM
Roy Keane's comments about PGMOL & refereeing performances are spot on, how much longer are the clubs going to allow this to continue?

Arsenal benefitted from yet another mistake
November 2, 2026 at 8:04 AM
Liverpool should have had a pen. They should also be down to 10. Refereeing been very poor.
