As a gun person, this stuff happens, typically while reholstering. Go slow, take your time and make sure there's nothing to obstruct your trigger or reholstering like a piece of clothing or outerwear.

On the range I've seen two guys shoot themselves in the leg but while drawing, not reholstering. No better way to firmly reinforce trigger discipline...

You'd be shocked at the number of cops who shoot themselves in the leg when reholstering their sidearm.
The quick release pommel button is honestly so genius it's a crying shame nobody did that after. Click in knives are okay but the click wears off and the knive eventually starts slipping out. But the locknife? Secured button in and a quick flick of the thumb away from deployment. Easy reholstering.
