Amazing these "I was a rejoiner at heart but I didn't do anything to back those words just in case someone didn't like it"
Brexit has made us poorer, weaker and less secure. There is a debate to be had about our future relationship with Europe, and I welcome Andy Burnham’s leadership in facing up to this. No one in the Treasury ever doubted where my instincts were.”
Reeves backs rejoining EU saying Brexit made UK 'poorer, weaker and less secure'
Former Chancellor Rachel Reeves backed Andy Burnham's push for a rethink on the relationship with the bloc - but said supporters need to win the argument

This is a great summation. Every time a rejoiner gets annoyed with me for saying that committing to the Euro is a likely condition of rejoining, I ask why they don’t like the Euro and they say they do.

Naomi is fab. Definitely a keen remainer and rejoiner.

They are shifting the Overton Window in the UK.

It may look impure to purists but that’s what they are doing. This is political comms.

Not sure what point you're trying to make as Burnham has implied not any time soon, as he recently said he "hopes we will rejoin in 'his lifetime'' and reconfirmed red lines while also initially halting the progress being made. I'm a committed rejoiner and actually agree we don't need a referendum.

I'm not too happy as a remainer come rejoiner. The damage has been vast and unnecessary and still many people can't see it or won't see it.
It's a bit like the lunatics cheering Trump's lewd comments and claiming he was sent by god. How many stupid people are there?

First the Right Wing establishment will destroy Farage, then they will get rid of Badenoch. Intelligent people on the right already know that Brexit is a millstone around their necks. The next Tory leader will be a rejoiner.
November 3, 2026 at 7:46 PM
Do I think he was right to say that, no, but it doesn't negate work carried out reestablishing relations behind the scenes. Labour at the time universally supported red lines responding to the red wall, a rejoiner I didn't support it, but it would also be wrong not to see what was achieved.

Andy Burnham's rejoiner dream dealt major blow as official figures lay bare Britain's EU migration legacy
Andy Burnham's dream of one day rejoining the European Union has been dealt a major blow as official figures laid bare the scale of migration from the bloc into Britain during its years as a member state. Just days ago, the Prime Minister told ITV he wanted to see Britain return to the EU within his lifetime – and signalled Labour will fight the next general election on a platform to reverse Brexit. ### Mr Burnham has also said he wants to have “an honest discussion” regarding the EU's Freedom of Movement, but insisted this must rely on “a very factual, evidence-based debate". However, research of Home Office data by the Brexit Facts4EU think-tank and shared exclusively with GB News has revealed the damning legacy of migration into Britain during the EU membership years. ### TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say The figures revealed migrants who came into Britain from the EU represented two-thirds of the net migration influx over the past 25 years. Since 2000, more than 6.1 million applications under the EU Settlement Scheme have been approved, compared to 2.6 million people coming from countries outside the bloc. Britain's population boomed by almost 10.6 million (18 per cent) in the 25 years from 2000 to 2025, with migration from the EU accounting for more than half of the unprecedented rise. Speaking to the People's Channel following the publishing of the shocking report, former Brexit Minister David Jones said: “The fundamental objection to EU Freedom of Movement was always that it deprived the British electorate and its representatives of control over immigration policy. “Decisions about who may come to live and work in this country should be taken by ministers accountable to Parliament and the voters, not unelected European officials.” ### ### During the Brexit campaign, the Remain camp spearheaded by David Cameron insisted only three million EU citizens were living in Britain. However, by the EU Settlement Scheme deadline on June 30, 2021, applications had already breached six million (6,046,665), which is double the number initially presented by the Remain side. Former secretary of state Lord Redwood told Britain's News Channel: “Because there was a surge of non-EU migrants to the UK after Brexit it has become accepted that non-EU migration has been our main problem. “It is true the combination of special schemes for people from Hong Kong, Ukraine and a misguided care worker plan produced a surge. "Meanwhile, millions of people from the EU have been welcomed and been given residence and working rights. ### MIGRANT CRISIS - READ THE LATEST: * Charities that lobbied against Shabana Mahmood's migration rules given more than £1bn in public cash * ~~~~Suspected African migrant arrested after smashing into Ramsgate Harbour during attempt to steal boat * Shabana Mahmood hits back at claim Labour rebels forced £10billion immigration climbdown ### ### "The totals are large and greatly exceed the non-EU numbers which we have always been able to control if we wished. The public is so angry about the scale of this migration without thought of its impact ln communities.” Since the deadline for the EU Settlement Scheme slammed shut in July 2021, a further 1,509,639 have been submitted. While Mr Jones acknowledged the rights of EU citizens residing in Britain should be honoured, he issued a stark warning to the Prime Minister over the possibility of rejoining any freedom of movement agreement. The former Tory minister said such a move would "surrender an essential power of self-government which the British people voted to recover". The data also revealed the staggering migrant influx was heavily concentrated by just a handful of EU member states. ### ### Romania tops the table, accounting for a massive total of 1,424,187 applications approved under the settlement scheme. Poland and Italy follow closely behind with 1,183,921 and 610,344 countries, respectively. Other countries who saw substantial numbers settle in Britain under the scheme include Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal and France. The Home Office's recently introduced automated processing measures to approve applications uses algorithms to scan continuous tax and benefits records. If the criteria are met, the software automatically upgrades the individual to settled status, with zero manual input of caseworkers required. Around 115,770 automated grants have been dished out since the new system came into force – with 78,210 of these occurring within the last reporting year ending June 2026. Lord Redwood said: “Many people who voted for Brexit voted to take back control of our borders. "Most were alarmed by the impact of so many people coming to live here when we were already short of homes, jobs and health care. He added: “We are not short of people. We are short of homes and jobs. Negotiating to restore Free Movement and many more EU migrants flies in the face of the Brexit vote. "It would intensify our problems with finding jobs and homes for the many already here.” ### **Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter**

Caroline was Leader of the Lib Dem group in the Euro Parliament at the same time as NF led UKIP and was/is a strong Remainer/ Rejoiner, so NF's behaviour may have been targeted. I've met Caroline, she's had her fair share of hard knocks in life and wouldn't be intimidated by an arse like Farage.

Please consider stopping your use of generative AI for campaigning material. I'm an old-time Remainer and Rejoiner, and I've campaigned pretty hard in my time, i.e. I'm definitely on your side - but generative AI is destroying the planet and taking away artists' jobs. It's a tool of the Trumpists.

Rejoiner exceptionalists seem very keen on selling a version of EU membership that could quite easily lead to Brexit 2.0 and the EU will see that. They need to sell the 'warts' to the UK electorate and be honest about that. Weaseling out of commitments will not fly.

sorry I’m a rejoiner and that’s for the birds

Wow 😮 Yeah he's done some good things.
He's also a Remainer/Rejoiner 😊

Thats crazy some countries actually kill people for that.

I'm guessing either Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore or Malaysia?

...and start where we can; CU/SM etc. Slowly, bit by bit. To continue the ex analogy, we need to show that we've changed & want them back. We need to show that we're no longer swayed by the dubious charms of Nigel & Boris.

I say this as a staunch Rejoiner, and am fine with adopting the € etc. 2/2

Far too much emphasis is put on a few individuals. We are 452 citizens in the European Union.

The Reapply campaign really needs to lift their eyes to the bigger picture.

(Incidentally, I saw a “Rejoiner” slagging off “East European mafia states” recently. That kind of behaviour will end in tears.)
