I'm starting to think that the big mistake we've made is relying on competition to regulate price, thereby making anti-trust measures vital.

If we regulated price through active means, rather than market means, then trusts and monopolies might matter less.

Scott Bessent compared AI executives begging for regulation to Hannibal Lecter saying stop me before I kill again. Scott, when the killer asks you to stop him, you stop him. Instead Fuckface is relying on their tremendous self-policing and his own High IQ.

These close races showing such a split is the exact reason why more countries will continue to divest away from relying on the US.

The US is always one election away from electing another demented fascist with a bunch of submissive party members in Congress.

The pendulum swing is just too crazy.
Democratic Senate nominees are now leading or tied in five reliably Republican states, according to a new NYT/Siena poll.

Kansas
45% Adam Hamilton (D)
45% Roger Marshall (R)

Texas
51% James Talarico (D)
45% Ken Paxton (R)

Alaska
50% Mary Peltola (D)
43% Dan Sullivan (R)

The Citizens Information website is often wrong but the fact people are relying on AI instead of it is even worse. God forbid the government should fund legal advice from properly qualified human beings
Artificial intelligence (AI) is causing fewer people to visit the Citizens Information website, as online searches increasingly give users AI-generated answers, diverting them from clicking onto the authoritative service

I'd be satisfied if Texas would just get their rootin' tootin' ass off the government teat, without relying on federal money

Opinion: A recent Third Circuit decision exposes the flimsy justification behind nearly every blanket return-to-office mandate issued since the Covid-19 pandemic ended, and it should terrify any employer still relying on one.

That is a bullshit lie. More and more, they are relying on nothing more than claiming "Biden did that but we're trying to fix it" and more and more even their own base is seeing it's untrue. Even if you believe it started bad, it's observable when everything you do makes it worse.

Republicans again relying on hateful anti-Trans ads to keep their authoritarian regime in power. Trans people aren’t why this country is worse off in every respect since January 2025. It’s GOP corruption that rewards billionaires and hurts ordinary people.

The billionaire and trillionaire class deserve to be taken down a few notches. There is no reason to have that amount of wealth.
And yes, the very wealthy are in the crosshairs of quite a few people. They always have been, and sometimes for good reason. They live their own code of laws, relying on

We must alter the Levers of Power to respond to our dissatisfaction more often than once every 4 years. And let's quit relying on the unlikely chance that politicians will hold one of their own to account.

This election is the 1st step. Then we litigate thru the holidays, & get justice in January.

there are also potential optimization gains by having ai profile code and asset performance. stuff humans easily miss like a cycle that never gets ended or an asset exporting incorrectly
it risks devs over-relying on it and not learning/collaborating, but overall it seems beneficial

That's a fair description of one side of Manchesterism (or Bernsteinism more accurately) but the key difference is in actively using the generated economic benefit on social projects rather than relying on it to trickle down of its own accord as conventional neo-liberalism would dictate.
