Once the database (which will be known as RentRegistry) launches next month, it will be far easier for tenants to get information about housing units (such as what the top rent charged can be), and for advocates to track changes in rent control across the city.

As Chair of the D.C. Council’s Committee on Housing, I am proud to announce the launch of RentRegistry, our new public database of rent-controlled apartments. This long-awaited tool is a major step toward transparency and accountability in our housing system.
