COMMENTARY: The Audacity of Joyce Beatty | BlackPressUSA
Dr. Julianne Malveaux's commentary highlights Congresswoman Joyce Beatty's courage in standing against Donald Trump's attempts to take control of public cultural institutions, specifically the Kennedy Center. Beatty, a prominent Ohio Democrat and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, has not only legally contested Trump's actions but also exemplifies the principles of audacity and righteous challenge against illegitimate power. The discussion also reflects on the broader implications of Black political power, the responsibilities of the Congressional Black Caucus, and how access to political power must translate into actionable outcomes that address systemic injustices. Malveaux emphasizes Beatty’s fight as a symbol of perseverance and moral clarity in the face of adversity, urging Black politicians to defend civil rights and social justice.

This should be an exhibit to get an injunction to stop him from bulldozing our Kennedy center. There is nothing structurally wrong with it. The orange beast just wants his name on it or else. #RepBeatty
Trump is threatening to rip down the Kennedy Center unless his name is put on it.

He is evil incarnate.
