#Rescission
I was a freelancer who bought individual coverage for many years, and yes, it's annoying to hear people who can't spell "rescission," much less define it, tell me how terrible ACA is.

i fear that i already know what the right wing will try to idolize next after ankin and it's one of the many bad things in pop culture to happen leading up to the 2008 rescission, i'll leave it at that.

The new Congress can rescind funding that has already been approved and enacted into law. It’s called a rescission. They can pass an appropriations bill or a standalone rescission package. Most likely, DT will veto the bill. Congress can override the veto with a 2/3 majority in both chambers.

They do, actually; the email I got said that the NPC is considering actions that include "threatening DSA-LA with legal consequences should we not comply with the rescission of the endorsement."

Defenders Presses Forward in Lawsuit Against ESA 4(d) Rescission
Defenders of Wildlife today filed an amended complaint challenging the Trump administration’s rescission of the Endangered Species Act’s blanket 4(d) rule with co-plaintiffs, the Center for Biological Diversity. This provision previously allowed the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to extend comprehensive statutory protections against unauthorized take to threatened wildlife by default, ensuring that such species do not decline further into endangered status. Ryan Shannon, senior attorney at Defenders of Wildlife, shared the following statement: “The Trump administration continues to strip protections from threatened species at the time they need it most. The blanket 4(d) rule has protected threatened species for decades, and its repeal will only lead to more delay and more work for the already strained Fish and Wildlife Service, which has lost a third of its staff to DOGE cuts and brain drain. It will also, almost assuredly, lead to weaker protections for species like the Florida manatee and wolverine — both of which are awaiting protection. While it's tempting to think that they do not need as stringent of protections as endangered species, the truth is that acting before it is too late is essential to putting these species on the path to recovery before they slide...

What’s unsettled: how courts treat the rescission and where disparate impact goes from here.

The guidance is gone. The obligations aren’t.

He will absolutely obstruct, but Dems can also get the GOP on record for votes against. The next two years need to be about hamstringing him through power of the purse, rescission where possible, and investigating his administration and family.

At the NCAA D-1 Board of Directors meeting today, a motion to overturn the college soccer proposal was introduced, but failed.

That's a significant win for advocates/coaches. But this still has to survive the rescission process.

Deadline is next Friday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m. ET.

Thankfully, some state laws already reflect the EEOC’s prior guidance.

Employers shouldn’t be intimidated by the federal rescission: the law hasn’t changed, and many states still require fair, job-related background check practices.
