One layer of retina has UV sensitive opsin, and a rear layer has a green sensitive opsin.
Light is focused on the rear layer, and by comparing that signal to the unfocused signal of the UV layer they can compute range.

Detached retina surgery complete. Gotta travel back tomorrow for a quick follow up. Gotta wear this for a week. Lots of rest this week. 🤘😎

There are a few ophthalmology practices just off K St NW near Farragut. I have gone to one (RetinaConsultants.net) for retinitis pigmentosa, my work supervisor has different eye issues but i think goes to a different ophthalmologist in the same general area.

There are a few ophthalmology practices just off K St NW near Farragut. I have gone to one (RetinaConsultants.net) for retinitis pigmentosa, my work supervisor has different eye issues but i think goes to a different ophthalmologist in the same general area.
Hubby started seeing things in his vision. Spent the morning learning he had a hole in his retina and he had to have it lasered to hopefully prepare. Sigh. Too much going on.

so one of the times I had laser done, on the right eye - and this is why my right eye is shit - is that afterward the retina doc said the scar tissue from the laser caused it to pull and partially detach the retina. I didn't lose any vision, what it did was it stretched the shape of the retina.
