Fixed the internal drive on this bad boy. The belt was fine; cleaned the heads, rails (and applied sewing machine oil), and belt pulleys. So so very happy to have this working as it should!

I would love to show a video of this working but Mastodon still can’t handle posting videos without failing for no reason, so here’s a picture instead! Well, several! The image is a bit messed up since I need to adjust MacDVI timings for the classic, but the Mac works perfectly. #retroapple

My custom table view (aka DataBrowser implementation) is starting to look real, using an API somewhat inspired in AppKit, with a data source and everything. 😁 Appearance Manager only for now, and all very smoke-and-mirrors-y, but one problem at a time! #retroapple

Rusty EMF shield separated from the LC III top case. Based on how hard it was to pull it out I don’t think it will be a problem to keep them together without the plastic thingies that were holding it. #retroapple

Guess who’s about to fix another board! 😃 Bad video out is due to broken trace on pin 23 (A4) of the video chip.
Also what’s up with these LC 475 boards?! Two boards, two broken traces. These things seem to fall apart by themselves. #retroapple

Ok just got the heck of it I reconnected the old Quantum hard drive that was originally in this external case and… OMG! Yes that was my boot screen for the LC, now in 1-bit! It boots! It boots!!! All my stuff is still here! I’m giggling like a little kid. Gonna explore this! #retroapple
