My own view (and I'm also an ex-sheep breeder/present day rewilder) is that sheep are utterly incompatible with rewilding.
As someone who's an ex-sheep breeder/present day rewilder I would have never thought of it that way.
Partly because if I run livestock on the place I'm rewilding it will be extremely controlled. Thus, no chance of damage, but not everyone does intensive farming.

Still a relatively rare species in Ireland, but steadily increasing in distribution and abundance, giving hope for nature.

Perhaps Goldsmith thinks he can minimise the damage. He can't: merely give legitimacy to a 'party' that openly plans to destroy a liveable climate.

Many of us used to have great respect for Ben Goldsmith. Despite being a Tory, he was a passionate rewilder, and a real ally of the natural world.

We're headed exactly where you are but no one is paying any attention- we've always relied on snowmelt and regular seasonal rain to save us and we haven't had either of those reliably for at least 15 years.
