A child dying of cancer spent her final days fighting to free her wrongfully detained father from ICE custody.

This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

Not one dime for this cruelty.

This brave child fought cancer & ICE.
Her father should have never been in custody in the first case. Trump & Noem stole precious moments from them.
If you do not see how wrong this is, you have no soul.

I’m happy to share our published work in @cp-cellreports.bsky.social! With zebrafish modeling of rhabdomyosarcoma, we showed that PAX3::FOXO1 utilizes homeobox motif recognition to initially bind closed DNA and activate neural programs present in the human disease. www.cell.com/cell-reports...
Rhabdomyosarcoma fusion oncoprotein initially pioneers a neural signature in vivo

Children’s Hospital DC gave my daughter six more years of life after a devastating diagnosis of stage IV Rhabdomyosarcoma that had metastasized in her bone marrow by the time it was diagnosed. Got her cancer-free for a while, too. We practically lived there at times. Fetterman can suck it.

Engineering Peptides that Target Disordered Regions in PAX3-FOXO1–Positive Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma
Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma is an aggressive childhood cancer, and many children with this disease carry a mutation that combines two different proteins, PAX3 and FOXO1, into one protein, PAX3-FOXO1. Th...

My daughter is a survivor of Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma. She will have lifelong side effects from the treatment. Cutting this funding is ghoulish.

We looked at this in rhabdomyosarcoma a few years ago. Hydrostatic pressure from blebbing can force cancer cells into other regions (metastasis) and got really excited when we found a small molecular signature for it.

Wrote up a grant that I was really proud of and excited, which got triaged.
Four cancer cells displaying continuous membrane blebbing videoed through a DIC microscope. No, these cells are not dying. #CellBiology

PAX translocations remodel mitochondrial metabolism through altered leucine usage in rhabdomyosarcoma
By using an engineered human-iPSC-derived muscle progenitor model, it is shown that PAX fusion transcription factors remodel 3D chromatin maps and transcriptional circuits to activate oncogenes and drive mitochondrial OXPHOS in high-risk rhabdomyosarcoma.

I’ll never understand how people believe that power insulates them from biology. You can be the richest, most powerful mfer in the world, with access to the world’s finest doctors, and glioblastoma, or rhabdomyosarcoma, or diabetes, or heart disease, or sepsis can still kill you or your loved ones.
