Looks like the (post-Botley Road reopening) replacement to the 14 bus as a link from the Oxford rail station to the JR Hospital will be an extended 4 route that runs from Botley to Risinghurst (via the High Street & London Road rather than N Oxford & Marston).

Spend a day at The Roundway in Risinghurst, walk in the road or don’t walk at all🤯 @badlyparkedox.bsky.social

Risinghurst needs a direct city centre bus not one that trails all round Marston on route. the current service is beyond a joke and this will be no better.

The Oxford Clarion reports that when the Botley Road reopens, bus changes will probably include:
400 (from Thame/Thornhill) extended to Seacourt Park & Ride
4A and 14 replaced by a new cross-city 4 service, running Botley–city centre–Marston–Risinghurst

Perhaps Cllr Epps might look at the fact Risinghurst is about to lose its bus service and do something about it if he is so keen on bus travel!

At the end of the day it serves nobody because it takes too long to get anywhere. Risinghurst needs a bus direct through Headington to Oxford. They should make 1 in 3 Barton buses serve Risinghurst as the 8a . It would only add 10-12 mins to the 8 service and work for everyone.

That bus is expected to do too much: on top of serving Risinghurst, Northway, and Old Marston, it is the *only* bus service between Oxford railway station and the John Radcliffe Hospital

A fact that is completely unsurprising to anyone familiar with those areas (I might have thought Risinghurst would have a higher proportion of car ownership though).

Of course it’s in North Oxford, where there’s a hundred different pavement schemes by this county council.

Nothing ever for Northway, Barton, Risinghurst, Wood Farm, any of the estates in the east of the city

Headington Festival weekend always held the weekend following late May bank holiday and Risinghurst & Sandhills Parish fete & picnic the following Sunday. I love local events you can just walk or cycle too. Could we see a yearly calendar emerge?

Chewe Munkonge, city councillor for Quarry & Risinghurst, is now Oxford's Lord Mayor. You can see the Mayor-making ceremony here on YouTube, but if you don't have 50 minutes to spare you can see him voted in at 15 minutes, and then hear his speech www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqc3...

Fantastic night for @oxfordgreenparty.bsky.social. Now the second biggest party on Oxford City Council with 13 seats. Many thanks to the 344 residents of Quarry and Risinghurst who put an 'X' by my name in the ballot 🗳️. Congratulations to Chewe Munkonge who was re-elected for the ward.

Number of people in Headington area who bothered to vote: Barton & Sandhills 33.9%, Churchill 29.5%, Headington 48.8%, Headington Hill & Northway 40.1%, Lye Valley 35.6%, Marston 51.78%, Quarry & Risinghurst 50.1%

Chewe Munkonge who has held Quarry & Risinghurst ward for Labour will therefore definitely be serving as Lord Mayor from later this month
May 8, 2026 at 4:34 AM
And Labour have also comfortably held on in Quarry & Risinghurst, where Chewe Munkonge survives to be the next Lord Mayor.

Here’s the seats declared so far at 4am: 16 down, 8 to go, including some very keenly fought ones. Marston is a three-way Green/Labour/IOA fight, the Greens hope to take St Clements, the LibDems have been working Quarry & Risinghurst, and we’ve heard suggestions of a possible upset elsewhere…
