Ristar (Genesis) by Sega

A sprite edit of Sigma's head from Project X Zone 2 added onto pixelart of a purple and blue shark creature. You can't tell from the edit, but it was a hammerhead shark. Now he's a ball pein hammer shark.

Featuring a list of famous people killed by gunshot in a Ristar review is absolutely bonkers.

Tweaking things on this, naturally. Thinking of leaning in on the monkey thing more by making her arms really long/big. Huge hands. Maybe increase the shoulderpad size.

Whole idea is basically "Ristar + Sonic + Monkey + Marina Lightyear."

What was this obsession with claiming that Ristar was like Sonic? It comes up everywhere.

i may as well post the closer-up pics i took to show those Lines

surprisingly good for RF on a tv from 1978
a close-up shot of the CRT displaying an attract demo cutscene from gradius on the pc engine. the vic viper is shooting at whatever the green spaceship is called in gradius (i forget, sorry) in space while a moai head shoots donut rings in the background at nothing an even more close-up shot of the CRT displaying ristar on the sega genesis. ristar is in the first level of planet freon, happily building a snowman while a native freon child looks on mischievously in the background

I may have made comments about wanting a Ristar sequel, but in truth, I think I’d be fine if one didn’t exist, because the original game ends with a definitive happily ever after.

And there's also this one last card of a character named "Normal Masked Guy", who for some reason share a slight resemblance to Ristar, particularly when it comes to his stretched arm in the first pic. #Art #Maskedguy

I denna mörka tid

Tiden är mörk, det säger också änglarna
De stöter i basun, kerubim och serafim
De skriver detta budskap i nattens silver,
de ristar det i den svartnande skålen
De skriver det med stjärnor, frost och tårar

Day 26: More people should listen to

This may be an odd song, and Ristar is certainly a hidden gem of the sega genesis library, but has one awesome soundtrack. This song has lived in my head rent free for a long time, and one I never really get tired of!

Sanningen.
