This Road Safety Week we’d like to remind all drivers to wait patiently if you find yourself behind one of our waste crews. Take a minute to watch this video which highlights the dangers of working out on the roads. Thank you for waiting patiently. #RoadSafetyWeek

#RoadSafetyWeek featured on BBC Newsround today. Of course they had to insist on cycle helmets. No mention about what drivers could do to reduce the danger they pose - go car free, slow down, no phones etc. Encourage kids to put pressure on their grown-ups to drive safer.

This is a really powerful video for #RoadSafetyWeek - we should all know about the hierarchy of responsibility in the #HighwayCode @cyclinguk.bsky.social
🧵1/2. Those in charge of vehicles that can cause the greatest harm bear the greatest responsibility to take care & reduce the danger they pose to others. This film by Co-Pilot brilliantly explains the hierarchy of responsibility on our roads—a crucial concept in the Highway Code.

It's #RoadSafetyWeek organised by Brake, the road safety charity.

Every year, more than 1,700 die on #ukroads. Another 30,000 have serious, life-changing injuries.

This year #RoadVictims are at the heart this week as we aim to increase awareness of the devastating toll of road crashes.

🚦 Today at Pinner Park we kicked off #RoadSafetyWeek with an energetic visit from For2feet - the Red Man Green Man show! The children were full of excitement, joining in and learning how to be safe on the roads. A big thank-you to the team for making road safety so fun. 👏

It’s #RoadSafetyWeek and we’re buckling up with these 9th–10th century belt fittings from our Islamic Arts Collection. Originally gilt and crafted in eastern Iran — possibly Nishapur — these 37 pieces held together a soldier’s important gear.
