I started tumbling rocks so I can be reminded that there is beauty in everyday objects. Here's my latest batch after their second journey in the tumbler.

This is a really cool rock my kiddo found. It’s unbelievably porous with (we believe) #quartz veins.

Has anyone else ever seen such a crazy rock before?

Meet Fluffy! Fluffy is a piece of asbestiform actinolite with magnetite and metabasalt/meta-andesite (greenstone) from the Catoctin Formation in Virginia.

Fluffy lives sealed in a plastic bag, in its own box, when not being photographed.
