The boxing weekend is action-packed, including the return of the world’s top pound-for-pound fighter in heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk and the surprising return of a legend in Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao...

No scale fails in Frisco, TX, as Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KOs) and Phumelele Cafu (11-0-3, 8 KOs) made weight ahead of their big super flyweight unification bout live on DAZN. All of the chatter leading up to this fight has been about Bam Rodriguez having another scheduled unification bout before this one even hears the sound of the first round. Yes, it’s risky, but Rodriguez is staying true to his word about becoming an undisputed champion at 115 pounds. Is this too much too soon, or will Bam Rodriguez continue to display why he is a pound-for-pound talent?

Heading into his July 19 super flyweight title unification with pound for pound rated star and WBC champion Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KOs), reigning WBO champion Phumelela Cafu (11-0-3, 8 KOs) is well aware that there is more than likely just one person within the boxing world believing he can leave The Star Centre in Frisco, Texas victorious - the man in the mirror. The South African first turned heads in October of last year when he traveled to Japan, upsetting four-division champion Kosei Tanaka (20-2, 11 KOs) in what was seen by many as one of the biggest surprises of 2024.

Boxing is back in Texas as the WBC and Ring Magazine super flyweight champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KOs) faces WBO champion Phumelela Cafu (11-0-3, 8 KOs) in a unification bout live at the Ford Center in Frisco, TX, live on DAZN. The card headlined by Rodriguez vs. Cafu is one of three on Saturday, which will keep boxing fans busy throughout the day and night. This fight will be the first for Rodriguez this year after scoring a third-round TKO over Pedro Guevara in November. Rodriguez already has another unification bout lined up for November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, if he can get past Cafu.
