Lunowli is perfectly average. She’s pretty, but nothing to write home about. If someone likes their looks, they’re quickly put off by their personality

You have to get Lunowli alone with you. If their ears twitch down and their tone of voice grows a touch softer, you’re a friend! They feel comfortable to take the wall down.

Roone will figure out your favorite tea/drink, and always have it available for your visits.

No one knows how to spell Lunowli and it is forever endearing to me. They would respond to all of them, btw. As long as “Lun” is somewhere in there.

For Roone, his last name (Ug’Relid) has a silent d! (Oog- Re- Lee) but I also don’t mention that often

For Roone, Nhaza’a. Roone is ultimately a pacifist- there’s a reason he became a doctor.

But Nhaza’a makes Roone’s blood boil. If he was allowed to kill him, he would, without remorse. So it’s a good thing Nhaza’a keeps himself scarce.

It took a couple times before Urianger built up the courage to try massaging around Roone’s tail, and he was gifted with the most delightful and shocking moan. Roone was very embarrassed at first, but now will specifically ask for it.

"S-sorry I'm late-! I"- Lunowli immediately reached for her cesti, not recognizing the voice. Looking over, a tall man stumbled inside, clad in robes much like Urianger's. "Who...?" Ast'ella hazarded. "Oh!" He pulled back his hood, incredibly long bunny ears popping out. "Sorry! It's me!" "Roone?!" Lunowli swiftly put their cesti away, running right up to the Viera. "What happened to your voice?! And why are you wearing that?" Roone chuckled to himself before kneeling down to Lunowli's height. "Perhaps I should have warned you... Urianger gifted me Fantasia. I'm finally physically a man." He beamed. "But with that, my old robes don't fit me correctly anymore. So I've been borrowing Uri's." "Roone Ug'Relid, you sly son of a bitch!" Lunowli jumped him, wrapping her arms tightly around him while bubbly laughter escaped them. "I'm so proud of you! By the fucking Fury! But maybe fucking tell me the next time a life altering event happens?" Roone smiled brightly. "Apologies. I swear to tell you earlier next time." Ast'ella cocked her head. "Forgive me, but were you not always a man….?" Roone shook his head as he stood. "I was actually born a woman." "Yeah, and now he's slingin' dick!" Lunowli proudly slapped his thigh. Roone's ears flattened. "...To say it so vulgarly, yes."

Lunowli calls her mom “Ma”. They both have southern accents (because I said so) and Lunowli would do anything for her Ma. They don’t call anyone their dad.

Roone’s mom is “Mother”, and his dad is “Father”. He grew up in a very… strict environment.

Lunowli is a single child- but *technically* has several half-siblings through their deadbeat dad. She has no desire to meet them.

Roone has three odd and wonderful sisters (Olive, Yumi, Killian) that he loves dearly! And a fourth (Byliv) that wants him dead.

Roone laid against the sand, staring up at the night sky. Mother had gotten angry at him again- though, what day hadn’t she been? Damned to a fate of staying outside where any wild creatures could steal him away in his sleep. Luckily his eldest sister took pity and sneakily helped him climb a tree, out of reach of most beasts. He leaned hard against the trunk and closed his heavy eyes. His ears twitched as he listened to the crickets and junebugs, their makeshift choir lulling him to sleep.

"Excuse me?" Roone nearly jumped out of his chair. It was rare that he was so tunnel visioned that he blocked out noise. It seemed to scare the Elezen, not expecting such a drastic reaction. "A-ah! S-sorry!" Roone shook it off, blush deepening on his face. "Am I in the way? D-do you need something?" The man's warm smile calmed him down. The rest of his face was obscured by a hood and crimson goggles. Yet even despite the mystery, he felt... safe. "Mine apologies, twas not my intention to frighten thee. I wanted to inquire if thou wouldst be willing to part with one of thy many tomes." He gestured toward one in the stack beside him, "I shall return it forthwith." Roone had never met someone who spoke in such a strangely calming cadence. "Oh! O-of course." Roone clumsily pulled the book from the pile, a few sliding down onto the table. He tried to ignore it, quickly turning back to the Elezen and holding out the book. "Here! And take your time!" His voice cracked. He huffed a small laugh. "I thank thee." He nodded as he held the book. The tips of their fingers grazed for just a moment, a rush of heat shocking Roone's system. He nearly dropped the book, but the Elezen thankfully took it in hand. "Many thanks." He hummed. He turned to walk away but hesitated, turning back to Roone. "If it would not trouble thee, might I ask another question?" Roone nodded. "What is it?" "Forgive me, yet I do not believe I have seen thee before now. I wished to know thy name." "Oh!" Roone's ears perked up. "My name is Roone. Ah, Dr. Roone Ug'Relid, that is." He sheepishly rubbed his neck. "I'm a friend of Luna's- er, Lunowli's. I'm actually a chirurgeon of the Conjury guild back in Gridania, but with all that's happened and... well, I'm staying with them until things get a bit more settled." "Dr. Roone Ug'Relid..." the Elezen hummed. "Tis a pleasure to make thine acquaintance. They call me Urianger Augurelt." "Urianger!" Roone's eyes lit up. "You're the funny talking one!" His face quickly turned to terror. "Oh- I- I mean-! I don't mean to offend! Luna told me about all the scions and all I heard about you was the 'mysterious funny talking one'. B-but I don't think that's true! You talk how a book reads and I-I... I actually find it quite nice..." He felt himself getting pale, hiding his face in his hands. "I should really stop talking." Urianger chuckled, a wonderful chiming sound. "No offense taken, I assure thee. It does sound like something our shared friend would say." Roone sheepishly peeked through his fingers, relaxing as he saw the genuine smile on the other's lips. He sighed, letting his hands fall back into his lap. "Yeah... she's a mess." He spoke, love in the words. "But pray, don't let me keep you. I'm sure you're very busy." Urianger shook his head. "On the contrary. Selfishly, I would ask if thou wouldst enjoy mine company. It seems we gather our information from the same sources. Perhaps working in tandem could produce exponential results." Roone felt his entire body temperature rise, silently cursing himself for acting like a star struck teenager. He took a breath to steady himself, a smile returning to him. "I would be honored to have thy company, Urianger."

Roone actually met Alphinaud first!

They speak through linkpearl during Lunowli’s stunt in HW (3/4) Alphinaud’s also the first he physically meets- along with Ast’ella, Y’shtola, and Krile- when Roone brings Lunowli back into the fray right before finding Thancred in post-HW. (4/4)

Roone closed his book and quietly snuck out of the house, careful not to disturb a sleeping Lunowli. Outside the voice was a bit clearer. Roone moved quickly toward the noise, his ears flipping back and forth to find it. Lu... pick u... ease.... He saw no trace of someone walking through, but he could tell he was closer. A tiny bauble in the grass happened to catch his eye. He bent to pick it up, the voice clear as ever. A linkpearl? Out here? Please... I cannot imagine the grief your heart is carrying right now, but we need you, Lunowli. Please let us know you're alright. Lunowli? Roone looked back at the house, noticing the open window. Had she chucked her linkpearl out the window just now? He moved further away from the house, not wanting Lunowli to hear him. He held the linkpearl to his ear. "He"- his voice cracked as anxiety shot through his body, "Hello? A-are you still there?" There was a shocked gasp. "Who is this?! How did you find this linkpearl?!" Roone gulped. "M-my name is Roone! Ah, Roone Ug'Relid, that is. I'm a chirurgeon, and"- "A chirurgeon?" The boy asked, "Please, tell me Lunowli is alright! She's a Lalafell with long red hair and"- "Luna's fine!" Roone reassured. "Lunowli is with me. They have no physical wounds- they're just... depression almost seems like an understatement." He frowned. The boy breathed a sigh of relief. "Good... that's good. I mean, it's not, but... at least they aren't hurt." There was a short pause, "My greatest apologies, Dr. Ug' Relia. I haven't even introduced myself before throwing accusations at you. My name is Alphinaud Leveilleur, I"- "Alphinaud!" Roone perked up. "I should have known it was you!" He gulped as he realized how bizarre that might sound to someone he's never met. "I-I mean, Lunowli told me all about everyone. The scions, that is. She spoke very highly of you." "She did...?" Alphinaud spoke in quiet disbelief. "Mm-hmm!" Roone nodded, forgetting he couldn't see the motion. "They spoke about how they were constantly impressed by how smart and brave and charismatic you are despite your age. It's an honor to speak with you." There was a brief moment of silence, Roone wondering if he had said something wrong. He heard a subtle sniffle on the other end, one he knew too well by now. "You want her to return too?" He could hear the hope in Alphinaud's voice. "I do." Alphinaud hummed in thought. "Dr. Ug'Relid, I believe I may have a proposition for you." "Please just call me Roone..." His ears folded back, "But yes, I'm all ears." "Lunowli has made it quite clear they have no desire to return..." Alphinaud sighed, "But I would ask of you to keep this linkpearl. You can apprise me of how Lunowli is recovering, and I can inform you of the latest happenings on our end. If we work together, perhaps we can find something that can respark their adventurer's spirit!" Roone's breath hitched in his throat. "I... I'm not sure if I can hide secrets like this from Luna. I've never had to"- "Please, Roone." Alphinaud spoke, desperation in his voice. "Ast'ella has already had to defeat a new primal alone. I can tell she's breaking. We need Lunowli. We have already lost so many of our friends and I... I don't want to lose another." Roone's foot thumped as he chewed his cheek. "...A-alright. I-it's just like doctor-patient confidentiality, r-right? I can do that!" He knew he was trying to convince himself more than Alphinaud. "Thank you!" Alphinaud sounded relieved. "Truly, I am in your debt." Together, they walked past the archway, Roone waving toward the Scions. "Ho there! You must be Alphinaud!" The young Elezen turned, his smile bright. "Ah, you must be Dr. Ug'Relid!" He waved him closer. The others looked confused, but wore a smile nonetheless for the unknown guest. Lunowli hid out of sight behind his robes. "Aye, and it's such a pleasure to finally meet you in person!" Roone beamed. He really was just a teenager. He turned to the rest of the group. "And a pleasure to meet you all, o-of course. My name is Dr. Roone Ug'Relid." "A highly skilled chirurgeon of the Twelveswood." Alphinaud added. "I must apologize, I never even thought to ask for your appearance before asking you to come. For what I knew, I thought I was looking for a woman!" He laughed. Roone anxiously chuckled. "I... ah... get that a lot..." he swallowed. Lunowli silently smacked a hand against their forehead. For all his prowess in political speech, he truly had no idea how to talk to people otherwise.
