Listened to this and really never got into it. I want to say I said the same thing by something else by this author. Oh well. #rootrootread

Sounds like we got our book for the #RootRootRead book club vacation.

The season is officially over so let’s read!!
As always, there is a bingo and a read-what-you-like challenge! Participate however you like! Let’s talk about what we’re reading by using the #RootRootRead hashtag! Everyone is welcome!

Man, this book was so cool. The POV is 2nd person and he’s a hoot. And just when you think you have it figured out, there’s a twist. Plus the setting is a dream: isolated Greek island YES PLEASE! I finished it a few days ago so it counts? #RootRootRead (got my bingo long ago!)

I skimmed the middle 2/3 of this. It was not good but then it was? A very interesting version of the nemesis trope. I wanted to smack both of them until the last few chapters. I did laugh a couple times. I don't think I recommend it. But maybe? #rootrootread

@joeytainment.bsky.social It’s here! The new Joey Clift book is here!! It’s GREAT! It’s funny. It’s informative. It’s got pictures. It’s got quizzes.

Y’all go get your copy of We’ve Been Here the Whole Time! A Not So Sacred Guide to All Things Native America. Joey is a gem. #RootRootRead

Hey kids. Do we want the off season #RootRootRead now or after the WS?

Book #17: read for 30 minutes uninterrupted. More like 6+ hours uninterrupted. Can't remember who recommended this one to me but it was so good, so well told, I couldn't put it down. Spent all day either reading or listening to the audiobook so I could still be somewhat productive. #RootRootRead

I re-read I Capture the Castle for my final #RootRootRead square. I read it close to 20 years ago and loved it; upon a re-read I don’t know that I feel the same. Thanks as always to @itsallaboutde.bsky.social for doing this for us!

Book #16 was a Booker Prize Winner. A beautiful book. Poetic. View of earth and life from the perspective of orbiting astronauts and cosmonauts. #RootRootRead

OoooHh... We might get a new #rootrootread challenge soon!! If @itsallaboutde.bsky.social feels like making it for us.

After finishing Mansfield Park for #RootRootRead book by author named Jane, I have now read all of Jane Austen’s completed novels. It was a back and forth, but at the end of the day I liked it even though it might have my most disliked Austen character (Aunt Norris).

For #RootRootRead book with an orange cover, I read Blackbirds in the Sky, which is about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and the history that led up to it. An informative, sobering read. Man’s inhumanity to man will never not cease to sink to even lower depths.

Trying really hard to wrap up #RootRootRead before the off-season starts (which, to be honest, will be next Monday). For book by an author whose last name starts with K I read K-Jane by Lydia Kang. Stories like these make me so glad I am not a teenager anymore.

I basically took August off for no good reason. Book #15 is a book checked out from the library. I already discussed it but the premise was stupid, but I still enjoyed the characters. #RootRootRead

I want back and finished Harlem Shuffle by @colsonwhitehead.com for #RootRootRead book you didn’t finish. I really liked it. It was funny but also anxiety inducing. I really liked the little bits of New York history that strewn throughout the book.

24. @itsallaboutde.bsky.social never fails to give excellent recs! This was funny, sad, shocking, endearing. Loved it! Listened. #rootrootread

25. There are 2 ways to interpret this square. I'm using both. I gave up on this book a couple years ago. I tried again and I just can't. I do not care about the MC or all the sex which is somehow "research". There are too many books to read to keep trying with it! #rootrootread

For #RootRootRead book recommended by a librarian I read Wonder Woman/Conan by @gailsimone.bsky.social. As someone that likes the Conan the Barbarian stories but not the problematic elements come with them, I really liked this book. And Woman Woman is awesome as per usual.

For #RootRootRead book set in Alaska I read The Yiddish Policemen’s Union by Michael Chabon. I really wanted to like it as his The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay is my all time favorite book, but this one tried to be too many things and I did not like it.

23. Wonder why this isn't more well known. Or maybe just not known by me. Loved it. #rootrootread

But What If I Miss Me is a 2026 release that I’d been waiting for & man was it worth the wait from one of my FAVE AUTHORS EVER @tiffanytsao.bsky.social !!! It deals with bodily autonomy, motherhood, and stolen identity. So many 😱🤯 moments. I don’t want to spoil it, JUST READ IT! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #RootRootRead
