Finds from today's short outing. A nice ox shoe, a few rosehead nails/spike, and a few other bits. By far the coolest thing is one half of a belt or sash buckle. I believe it's from the late 1800s. Haven't been able to find a match yet.

Took a walk across this potato field that was just harvested. You can actually see them in the background finishing up the last variety. Found a rosehead spike, a small hinge, a couple buttons, and a coin that is too far gone to identify. I can tell that it's not a US coin based on the size.

Got out for about an hour today until the pain started creeping up. Found a few buttons, rosehead spikes, an ox shoe, some pottery pieces, and what I'm pretty sure is a mid 1800's US military bridal rosette. Also spent some time listening to the wind blow the trees around.

Finally finished projects, part n of a sermingly infinite series...

War club, crafted from an octagonal ash blank, using only a hand plane to shape it. Upholstery nails stand in for iron rosehead nails, because we're not trying to kill each other for real.

65cm long, max diameter 4cm.

B O N K
Ash war club for use in medieval reenactment combat. 65cm long, 4cm max diameter at the head. 8 rows of upholstery nails cover the first 20cm, and a grooved hand grip the last 20cm. Between is a spiral of leather to protect the shaft.

Had a fun day in Door county minus the weather being cold and windy, and then switching to snowstorm. Saw two eagles, possible board from a shipwreck, some wave splashes and some cool rocks and fossils.
Two eagles sitting in a tree. A board from a potential shipwreck with an hand forged rosehead spike in it. Waves splashing at Cave Point. A rock that looks like it has an eye staring at you.

Consecrate them via blacksmith saints- like Dunstan or Clement-or older Gods like Wayland or Vulcan. #witchsky

Our square-cut nails are great for #folkmagic workers- Rosehead style and made in the UK. Perfect for warding, binding, necromancy, or a good bit of hearth magic.

Pop one in the threshold. Tape one under the boot floor. Slip one beside the till.

The old ways weren’t always fancy, just effective. 😉
Three iron nails rest on a textured surface, surrounded by greenery. The nails have a rugged texture, their sharp tips contrasting against the natural background. These nails are associated with folk magic, particularly for protection and warding off negative energies. In traditional practices, blacksmith saints were often invoked to bless such items, believed to have the power to protect homes or individuals from harm. One of my favorite is a novel called ROSEHEAD by an indie author named Ksenia Anske. I honestly don't know if it fits the vibe, but it immediately came to mind, so I hope it does.

I found this small rosehead today. It looked so sad all alone - yet super pretty!

I took it with me.

New God of War stood out in part because it had cool bramble rosehead enemies. I need better enemy designs than "gross zombie."

Another album cover for my oc metal band, Rosehead! This one's their second single, Alter Self.

#oc #fictionalband #horror #metal
A drawn album cover, there is a distressed person with a shaved head laying on a metal table, they have dotted lines all over their body, evoking both plastic surgery marks and meat cuts on an animal. There are two pair of hands, one pair is covering the person's mouth and prying their eyelid open, the other pair is pointing to one of he dotted lines on their head and holding out an awl with the other hand. The lighting is a harsh, vibrant red. The album name "Alter Sel", and the band name "Rosehead" are on the top and bottom of the image in the style of black office labels.

[CW: BODY HORROR AND BLOOD]

back on my bullshit with another fake album for my fictional oc metal band, Rosehead! this is their self-titled album :3

i have a whole list of all their releases and notable songs, this would be their first full LP
a drawn album cover with a purple-blue humanoid figure with their head replaced with a rose, they're reaching up to it with one hand as blood flows from the rose. there are thorny vines threading through the figure's arms. the fictional band's name "ROSE HEAD", is at the top of the image.
