8. A song that made you explore an era of music

What song should I pick for a theme of ‘For a rainy day’ for #Day8 of #DavidsMonthOfMusic challenge?
I thought of a vintage classic torch song “Stormy Weather” (written 1933) but done more recently by fab LA band, #RoyalCrownRevue, in 1998, from their album ‘The Contender’, which always delights me!

Today has a theme for #DavidsMonthOfMusic #Day18 of ‘with Q, X, or Z in the title
by a band that starts with R’.

Little brain cells put to work… et voilà!

#RoyalCrownRevue (from LA) & their track “Zip Gun Bop (Reloaded)” from the excellent 1998 album ‘The Contender’. Wished I’d seen them live…

I know ‘a song with a type of weather in the title’ for #Day14 of #DavidsMonthOfMusic - for this one, I choose “Stormy Weather” (the wonderful jazz standard), but by whom this time? One of my fave versions, from LA band #RoyalCrownRevue, and the track comes from their 1998 album ‘The Contender’.

So, for my #Day16 of #DavidsMonthOfMusic and the theme ‘a song which starts with P’, I have gone for a song which made quite an impact on me back in 1998, being distinctive… “Port-au-Prince (Travels with Bettie Page)” from excellent LA band #RoyalCrownRevue. (See also #Wikipedia info about Bettie)
