We heard from a friend that they were at the protest too. They were standing right next to someone who was struck by a rubber bullet. It was unprovoked. It never would have happened if ICE was not terrorizing our communities.
ICE needs to leave, they are not welcome in LA.

It helps that most police departments don't punish anyone for using any of their "less than lethals" incorrectly. Pretty much all of them (beanbag/rubberbullets/tear gas, dowel rounds etc etc) are meant to be fired into the air or skipped. Almost no one does that.

It's important for anyone to document these projectiles, but especially important for professional reporters to do so.
15% of people hit by these things are permanently injured. 3% die. they are so dangerous and they are used so recklessly!

Awful lot of accidents involving journalists and rubberbullets these days. Our Canadian CBC journalist is in hospital after law enforcement fired a flash bang at him and the shrapnel got stuck in his leg.
