Also, to be clear, when a trans instructor at OU is being punished and targeted for quite fairly grading a terrible essay, it’s bizarre to see academics online debating the rubrics.

This was entirely about purging a trans instructor from the school and they succeeded. It was aided by a lot of dumb liberals taking it at face value arguing the minutia of grading rubrics while ignoring the obvious bad faith efforts behind this.

OSU banned departments from considering race in admissions two years ago -- we aren't allowed to know applicants' races, and diversity (of any kind) was removed from all rubrics. So to come after us now shows how useless & futile it is to comply.

Admittedly, some of this is because the structure of education itself is gameable. We don't hire or pay educators enough, the way workloads and testing rubrics are designed don't really value deep comprehension, so aggregated slopchurn passes muster. Education for industry, not learning.

Call me centrist, but I have been in enough queer spaces both online and off to understand that prescriptive rubrics of What Counts As A True Trans Identity, and the impetus to regard transition as 'conformist', 'assimiliationist', 'colonialist', 'bourgeois' and 'privilege' both are too rampant.
