So first, lets look at the Daycare Attendant. It exhibits COMPLETELY unseen prototype features. Those teeth were not seen before this point.

The mimic downstairs looks like the original mimic Edwin created in the tales. Was there another created by Fazbear?

Eclipse is a virus type malfunction in the balloon boy AR cabinets. We never see daycare attendant openly corrupted the way the other animatronics are. Freddy dislikes it.

The mimic shares similar eye colours and eye caps with the daycare attendant also. His eyes can be white or red. He has those opaque eye caps with the glow beneath.

What was the original mimic designed to do?

It babysat Edwin's son. It was a childcare robot.

The attendant was a theatre robot. It could learn routines easily but something went wrong.

So it was moved to daycare.

I think Eclipse might be a newer better mimic.
