Runestone
It stands not far from where I live, it's like a three meters high proud remembrance from our forefathers. It was also the first photo I took with the Yashica D, an old medium format camera.

While doing research on Vikings I came across the Ledberg stone, a runestone that includes a "charm" that equates to "thistle, mistletoe, casket" (thistil mistil kistil) and I knew immediately I had to use it. Each word is meaningful to the comic, and it has the right fantasy/history vibes.

”De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” is all this runestone wants to say to you. That’s because its inscription is gibberish; the rune carver didn’t know what he was doing.

Women help raise one runestone in four, but only one in thirty is raised for a woman. Were women the vanguard of Christianity, as is often said? Our figures point to inheritance instead.

She inherited from her child – the women on the runestones
Women are among those who raised one runestone in four where it can be read who raised it, but only one stone in thirty that states the relationship was raised in memory of a woman. Were women the vanguard of Christianity, as is often said? Our numbers say no. They point instead to inheritance: a woman raised the stone when she stood in the man's place, as widow or mother.

the way the Amani UP THE HILL work with lightwood, and the Lightbloom enemy is right next to them - its BAFFLING this world quest is so at odds with the rest of the story lol

Couple it with the nearby Runestone and the Eversong devs just wanted to kill trolls lol

(funny how theres no rebel elves)
The World Quest 'No Squatters', which was originally voiced by Liadrin is now replaced with Lor'themar's dialogue

And it's still pretty icky. Why didn't they just change them to vilebranch after all this time?

What did Viking Age people want to be remembered for? We read all 2,633 Viking-age runestones and Hávamál and counted the praise. The warrior is at the back of the room. What counts: generous with food, gentle in speech, true to friends, and a good name after you.

Gentle in speech and free with food
What did the people of the Viking Age want to be remembered for? We read every Viking-age runestone and the whole of Hávamál and counted what is praised. The warrior is there, but as a minor figure. What counts is how you treat other people.

Around 1035 more than one runestone in three asked God to help the dead person's soul. Fifty years later only one in ten did – though the cross was still carved on the stones. Where did the prayer go?

The prayer fell silent – but the cross remained
Around the year 1035 more than one runestone in three asked God to help the soul of the dead. Fifty years later only one in ten did, although the cross remained on the stones. We think the prayer did not disappear – it moved into the church.

Here, enjoy a runestone with a Thor’s hammer on it this Thursday (it’s next to a Lutheran church since that’s how things are).

These Viking Age runes are carved into a forest cliff in Veda, Vallentuna in Sweden. It is not just a memorial, but also form of document establishing ownership over a Viking Age farm.

"Thorstain made this after Ärnmund, his son, and bought this farm and acquired (riches) in the east in Gardariki."

Would anyone be interested in a runestone reading from me? I would only ask $10 USD per question, in order to ideally bolster our mutual aid needs. If not for yourself, consider sharing for visibility. Thank you!
