If we revive #RuralEdChat here what night would be best? My only blocked out time would be Mondays 8-9 pm EST.

A6: I am in desperate need of a strong online #edtech community. I'm even thinking about bringing back #RuralEdChat if I can find a group of people interested in helping me get it going again. #edtechchat

Hello #Edusky people! I'm putting together a starter pack for rural & coastal education & anything associated (remote/coastal/ex-industrial/small schools, geographical isolation, etc.). Please let me know if you'd like to be included! Also, check out the #RuralEdChat feed so we can build it up.

"Rural Americans already have far less access to higher education than their counterparts in cities and suburbs. Now the comparatively few universities that serve rural students are eliminating large numbers of programs and majors, blaming plummeting enrollment and financial crises." #RuralEdChat

There's also a #RuralEdChat feed. It's empty at the moment, but who knows maybe it will be a perennial and sprout soon. 😉

I totally understand that. Part of the #RuralEdChat issues. The solitude of valuing broader connections in conjunction with local face-to-face interactions.

How are their case loads? In Texas, there is legislation requiring that school counselors be able to account for 80% of their time going toward actual counseling duties. Since then, we have removed other duties from our counselors' workloads such as testing and 504 plan administration. #EDUsky

A bill to kill the Education Department has already been filed. That said, it won't be easy to do, and it's not clear if Trump is willing to expend the political capital to see it done.

#RuralEdChat would be excellent! I'd love to participate because I, too, live in a tiny, underserved area.

Gratitude can shape the culture in your school. In this week of thanks, what are some of the ways gratitude is expressed in your school or community? How does your school or community cultivate gratitude? Share your stories! #RuralEdChat #EduSky

#RuralEd and #EduSky -- how do your schools support your students in the areas of counseling and SEL, especially given the staffing and funding shortages that (especially rural) schools are experiencing? Is this all on your counselor's plate or what other creative solutions are there? #RuralEdChat

Huge news! With the help of my Clemson colleague Dr. Betty Bagley, I reached an agreement with the rural McCormick County School District in South Carolina to offer their high school students AP Stats, their first ever AP course in the 25/26 school year. I’m on cloud 9! #ruraledchat

Hey #RuralEdChat Let's get a question for the week going today.

Q: How and what are you planning to communicate to your students and their parents the first week back?

Note: Add #RuralEdChat to your post so it will show in the feed.

I used to do a couple of chats on the bird. #RuralEdChat and #FLedchat (Florida) were very popular but when covid hit all the topics started revolving around that and it was more than I could take (mentally). I was just too tired to keep them going.
