What happened was a bunch of people who didn’t want to understand tech confused unscrupulous salespeople who understood tech enough to sell it with the actual brilliant minds that innovate tech. They buy every lying pitch uncritically bc the cost of peering behind the curtain is intellectual effort

My wife keeps them hooked as long as possible to prevent/discourage them from bothering other people. Telemarketers and door-to-door Religion salespeople like Mormons are told never to come to our house since my wife will talk to them for an hour or more if they don't walk away. Neighbours thank her

Just to make one more point. How many times would you have been devastated in the last 30y had you bought an asset at T+150 sold to you by brown shod salespeople of US investment banks? Often. Heuristically, the decision ought to be clear.
