Happy Hump Day! 🐋 Humpbacks in the Salish Sea are packing on the pounds before travelling south for winter. This humpback is feeding on small fish. Look closely and you'll see the gulls are happy to help themselves to the escapees!

The days are getting shorter and cooler, but several PWWA companies in WA and BC are still offering tours. One great thing about Bigg's (mammal-hunting) orcas like T49A1 "Noah" is that they can be seen in the Salish Sea at any time of year.

There is an AirTag hidden in my truck and camper, which is nice, but sometimes I wish it were a little more specific. I mean the Salish Sea is a big place ;)

I think we've basically decided that we will be back one day, it's just a matter of when. I basically have a dream to spend a year living on a cruiser and doing the Inside Passage up to Alaska and just expiring the Salish Sea.

New drone technology enhances Salish Sea oil response Ed.: The essays, analyses and opinions presented as Community Voices express the perspectives of their authors on topics of interest and importance to the community and are not intended to reflect perspectives on behalf of Salish Current. Wednesday morning, Sept. 16, was glorious in Deer Harbor: bright sunshine glinting on the water, color from early-turning leaves, light breeze out of the north, pleasant temperatures.
