Supporting waste pickers in South Africa to enhance livelihoods and recycling capacities.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with funding from the Government of Japan, is supporting the implementation of South Africa's National Waste Picker Integration Guidelines. As part of this initiative, a truck and uniforms were provided to the South African Waste Pickers Association (SAWPA) to enhance operational efficiency.
This intervention has strengthened local recycling efforts and improved the economic opportunities of waste pickers by increasing both their collection capacity and income.
The project demonstrates the importance of inclusive policies in promoting sustainable livelihoods and environmental sustainability.

That weird, because when I looked into it I found that California have been seeding, there are a few different programs to do so, but the SAWPA program has been put on hold to prevent "debris flow". So the "notes" are just wrong
