#SCARCE
WATCH - @abdulelsayed.bsky.social : "Politics isn't about culture wars, politics is about the allocation of scarce resources... a lot of us don't take corporate money because we believe our responsibility is to fight for working people. And you can't serve two masters."

Re: anti-ai

I think some leftists want a post scarcity society, but have cognitive dissonance that this necessarily means at some point we need to make certain things that were scarce (i.e. intellectual work), not scarce.

Capital is a scarce resource, too, as it (finally) turns out.

Here's the question I would ask if I were a reporter or editor: how many us service members were killed or wounded because scarce air defenses needed to shoot down Iranian missiles and drones headed for US bases were diverted to protect Israel, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and gulf shipping instead?
Iran has done more damage to US military bases in the Middle East than commonly understood. A @wsj.com examination finds 274 structures at 24 installations in seven countries were damaged during the first six months of the war. www.wsj.com/world/middle...
How Iran Battered U.S. Bases and Caused Billions in Damage
Satellite imagery shows damage at more than two dozen installations, in the fullest accounting of the destruction yet.

But how can profits go up if wars are making availability scarce? Ah, yes. I see. Silly Jason.
These criminals are laughing their heads off as the world roasts and governments - including the UK's - do absolutely nothing to rein them in

They should be in jail, but instead they are popping the champagne corks

Makes sense. After all, you wouldn't want those scarce patriots wasted on something frivolous like protecting Ukrainian school children.

I have purchased

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says having RAM in personal computers is a ‘terrible’ use of limited resources and that it would be better utilized in data centers

"From a global perspective it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their computer"

I kinda teared up. Joy is so scarce these days.

Great ad @abdulelsayed.bsky.social
this is one hell of an ad

this is ram rent seeking. they created an artificial demand and made the product scarce and now they want to sell what they hoarded back to us at an extreme markup.

Now it being listed also really isn’t harming anything, apart from the eventual mental health of whoever has to deal with it, but. With resources ever more scarce and limited, I do wish campaigning groups (for whom I have great respect!) would keep their focus a little more, well, focused

And I have been talking to older actors. And jobs are scarce. Good paying jobs are scarce. What are we doing if we are not nourishing talent? Not developing talent? Not allowing opportunities to flop and to grow?
November 1, 2026 at 2:28 PM
well, bitcoin is scarce but lots of scarce things aren't worth much, you do need to explain where the demand comes from imo

"With students scarce"

BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD IT.

It doesn't matter how polite you are to them if they can't afford your school.
