As a general matter, I think all articles abt budget spending should always provide both the absolute size of the program AND its relative cost.
Is a $1B program expensive? For SDak, it’s 14% the budget. For the Feds, it’s like 0.03% or something.

When Sawant was my Seattle council rep I proposed that the DSA should field candidates representing Native folks in places like SDak where they are reliable D voters. Imagine! A DSA rep in the South Dakota legislature!

Ever tell you I grew up in SDAK? Grade school through Junior High - Rapid. High School - Brookings. This was long before the coming of Noem, so if I never said anything about it, the only reason was because I didn't want to be reminded of the winters - and the rural kids who called everybody "fag."
